Finally, there’s an answer to the age old quandary of how to find a larger home that is also close to town so you don’t have to live in the hills to get some elbow room. Why sacrifice the valuable space you need for your family if you also want a convenient, walk to town location? With 89 Alta Vista you don’t have to compromise.

This expansive 5 bedroom, +/- 3,000 square foot home has recently been remodeled with stylish finishes and a practical, open floor plan. Enjoy the gracious formal living room with wood burning fireplace and built in bookcases. The dynamic chef’s kitchen has a Sub-Zero fridge, 6 burner Wolf range, wine fridge, breakfast island and is open to the dining room and a large family room with entertainment center, gas fireplace and French doors leading to the backyard. The main floor also has two bedrooms which are well suited for a home office and guest bedroom with 1 full bathroom. Upstairs is a dramatic master suite with tall, vaulted ceiling, gas fireplace, private deck with gas fire pit, large walk-in closet and a hotel suite like bathroom with a steam shower and stylish dual vanity. There are two other large bedrooms and a remodeled Jack and Jill bathroom.

The backyard has a lovely patio with built-in outdoor kitchen including BBQ, saute station and sink. There is a level lawn for kicking a soccer ball, hot tub and a soothing waterfall feature. The garage and two separate storage rooms provide additional room for all your gear and there are solar panels on the roof to keep your energy bills low.  At last, an option for people who want to live in a family friendly neighbor close to town, Boyle Park, schools and the freeway for easy commuting, while also providing enough space for long term family growth and enjoyment.

Neighborhood

Mill Valley

Family-friendly Mill Valley is all about schools and sports. Nestled at the foot of Mount Tamalpais, homes in the Marin County city range from 500-square-foot hunter's cabins to multimillion-dollar mansions tucked away on winding, narrow lanes under the redwoods.

Coffee is king in Mill Valley. Downtown, three separate coffee shops do a brisk business. At the Depot, as the sunny town center is called, moms with strollers, kids on tricycles, and teenagers kicking hacky sacks relax in the open-air plaza, which now houses an independent bookstore and cafe. The Depot is also a jumping-off spot for hikers and mountain bikers heading up the slopes of Mount Tamalpais. Nightlife in Mill Valley is anchored by Sweetwater Music Hall, which hosts many well-known musical acts.

As the groomed playing fields at the community center attest, sports are big in Mill Valley, with soccer, baseball, and lacrosse leagues all popular.
