Features

3039 Burdeck Drive is a wonderful 3++ bedroom, 3 bath home that will capture your heart! Built in 1925, and well sited on a .38 acre lot (public records), this home offers whimsy and a true sense of privacy with beautiful bay views.

From the moment you come down the driveway it is obvious this is a truly special and magical property. A front patio, multiple stone walkways and a wood fired hot tub that looks out to the view are just a few of the terrific things you will notice. The yard, while full of plantings and hardscape, will welcome your green thumb and imagination to restore it to its former glory.

Walk in the front door and the amazing views will quickly draw you into the living room and sitting room beyond. A picture window perfectly frames the bay views and the yard below.

The living room has rustic wood beamed ceilings with delightful painted details on each beam. The wood stove that is set in the circular fireplace will add warmth to those cold winter nights. The soft wood floors and wood trim make this a very cozy room!

The dining room is adjacent to the living room and has French doors that open to the back deck and views…perfect parties and al fresco dinners. The dining room also has wood wainscoting.

The updated eat-in kitchen has access to the back deck. The kitchen features a Viking gas stove with 4 burners, a grill, griddle and two ovens. Plenty of storage abounds and several of the cabinets feature glass doors and clever storage options.

To finish out the main level there is a bedroom with a built-in reading bench and a window that looks out to the view. The third bath with cool blue tiles is conveniently located next to the bedroom.

Upstairs find two en-suite bedrooms both of which have wood beams on the ceiling, windows that look out to the view, fresh carpet and plenty of closet space.

The master bathroom has vintage tile, marble counters and walls, a soaking tub that looks out to the view, a stall shower and vintage gold accents. It also has a walk-in closet with plenty of storage.

The second upstairs bedroom has a charming bathroom with vintage tiles, a marble counter and a window above the sink that lets in the light.

In basement find a plus space that would work well for an office or guest room and a great family room with new carpet. Oak built-ins provide storage and the vintage cash register is a fun feature!

The yard at this house is something to behold! Many trees provide a sense of privacy while the nooks and crannies of the yard will provide lots of places for secret gardens.

Nearby Joaquin Miller Park has 500 acres and includes on or off leash dog trails and plenty pf space to hike and bike. In the park find Woodminster Amphitheater which is home to the Woodminster Summer Musicals which puts on 3 shows each summer in July, August and September. The amphitheater is also home to Sundays in the Redwoods each September.

Just down the street find Woodminster Lane. There you will find Woodminster Market where you can pick up those last minute forgotten items. Round Table Pizza and Pattys & Buns provide a place to grab lunch or dinner. Montclair Village Hardware has all of things you need around for small fix-its around the house.

Less than 3 miles away Montclair Business District is a throwback to a simpler time before strip malls, megamalls, and big-box stores. Residents can find everything they need, from dry cleaning and groceries to restaurants. Local restaurant favorites include the Montclair Egg Shop, Flipper’s Gourmet Burgers, and Crogan’s Montclair Restaurant. Gourmet specialty items are available at A.G. Ferrari, Le Bonbon, and Farmstead Wine and Cheese. A farmers' market on Sundays provides fresh local produce and baked goods. Montclair is home to fine-arts festivals throughout the year, and a jazz festival in the late summer that enlivens the street scene.

Spectacular views, a large yard and a wonderful house…3039 Burdeck Drive is an amazing place to call home.

Neighborhood

Joaquin Miller

Named for the poet of the High Sierras, the Joaquin Miller neighborhood is a tranquil, woodsy area in the heights of Oakland. Bordered by one of the only urban second-growth redwood groves in existence, miles of trails, and picnic grounds, the district offers plenty of activity for outdoor lovers. Homes include Mediterranean and traditional structures on large plots of land.

Just minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city, the Joaquin Miller neighborhood offers a range of activities, many of which center on 500-acre Joaquin Miller Park. Inside the park, Sequoia Horse Arena offers trail rides, and goats graze the underbrush to help control the vegetation. A neighborhood community center can be rented for weddings, picnics, and local events. And as a plus for dog owners, the park is one of the few open-space areas that allow dogs on leash. Nearby Redwood Regional Park provides miles of hiking, running, and biking trails.

One of the premier science museums in the country, Chabot Space & Science Center, straddles the top of the ridge at Skyline Boulevard. With a focus on astronomy and space exploration, the center offers a robust calendar of family-friendly events — including Slumber with the Stars overnight adventures, hikes, and dinner-and-a-movie Supper Club social events.

The area offers sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay, downtown Oakland, and the San Francisco skyline. Nearby is the Woodminster Amphitheater, a favorite place for East Bay families to take in shows year-round — including summer musical under the stars.
