Features

Thoughtfully updated throughout by its architect homeowner, this spacious 4 bedroom/3 bath Harbor Bay home boasts spectacular contemporary design features, starting at the entry, and flowing through the entire home.

Living spaces downstairs feature travertine tile floors with an inlaid contrast pattern. The formal living room steps down to the formal dining room, with vaulted ceiling and skylights, and custom built-in shelves.

A stunning kitchen, custom designed, boasts dramatic Italian Paradiso granite countertops and backsplash, expertly paired with quarter-sawn imported mahogany cabinets, and artistic accent lighting. From the kitchen and adjacent family room, your eye is drawn to the expansive water view. Step out onto the stone patio, and take in the glistening water and breathtaking views of San Francisco Bay and bridges. Across the channel, you will be drawn in by the daily comings and goings at the Bird Sanctuary.

The family room features a fireplace, and is steps from a bedroom and full bath on the main level. This guest bath boasts more of the beautiful granite, and Australian jarrah wood shower floor.

These dramatic design accents are continued in the spa-like master bath upstairs with a dramatic “rainforest” feel shower boasting slab granite walls, and are accented by thoughtfully chosen high-end, high-quality fixtures and black marble basins. The Master bedroom has two closets, one walk-in, and an additional oversized closet, and features a wood-burning fireplace. Soak in the same amazing views and city lights from the balcony off the master suite.

Upgrades throughout include dual-pane windows, solid wood doors with high-end handles, designer light fixtures with a modern flair, modern stair rails with glass-panel detail, vessel bathroom sinks…..too many details to mention……you must see to appreciate! Important updates include newly-painted exterior, and brand-new roof.

Neighborhood

Alameda was once a peninsula connected to the Oakland docks. In 1902, a canal was dredged to enable easier shipping access, and that turned Alameda into an island. A little off the beaten track, Alameda has a laid-back vibe all its own. Despite its 80,000 residents, there's still a small-town feeling in Alameda. A 4th of July Parade, complete with horse-drawn carriages, embodies the small-town feel in Alameda, which has preserved much of its Victorian housing stock, cottages, and central, walkable shopping district along Park Street. The Alameda Theater on Park Street was restored to its art deco glory. Civic pride runs high here; formerly the Carnegie Library, the Alameda Free Library was transformed into a multimillion-dollar showplace that earned a Silver LEED certification. Kids play soccer on former parade grounds of the converted army barracks. Crown Memorial State Beach and Shoreline Drive attract wind surfers. With more than 10,000 buildings constructed before 1930, there is a rich and varied architectural heritage in the area playing a role in Alameda's real estate market conditions. Historic Queen Anne's, more than 1,500 ornately decorated Victorians, and California Craftsmans are some of the most desirable homes here along its tree-lined streets.
