The kids of Ross typically attend Ross Elementary School, which was recently named one of the 10 best schools in the country by Child Magazine. It consistently earns some of the highest API scores in the county. Serving children in grades K-8, Ross School recently underwent a multimillion dollar remodel and expansion, including a state-of-the-art gymnasium and advanced technology classrooms. The Branson School, also in Ross, is an elite, private college preparatory school serving students in grades 9-12. Ross Recreation operates two popular local preschools.

When they aren't attending the some of the best schools in the nation, the kids of Ross, along with their parents and dogs, can be found on the Ross Common, enjoying myriad activities offered by home-grown Ross Recreation, or picnicking, hiking and fishing in nearby Phoenix Lake. Hiking and biking trails abound, and it's easy to spend the day on Mt. Tam. Ross is also home to the Marin Art & Garden Center, offering a seasonal farmer's market, Pixie Park (a cooperative park for the toddler and preschool set), children's summer camps, and a summer concert series.
