Features

Conscientiously maintained by three generations of the same family since they bought it in 1917, this well-preserved classic bungalow sits comfortably above street level overlooking the surrounding neighborhood. It has something for everybody to love, including a spacious living room with bay windows and lots of light, a formal dining room with period built-ins, a convenient kitchen which is usable “as is” or easily upgradable to fit the buyer’s custom tastes; and quiet bedrooms well above street level for slumbering through the night. Enjoy the versatility of this 2 bedroom / 1 bath home of 1,211 SF on a 3,960 SF lot. Includes a sun room / laundry conveniently off the kitchen which can possibly be used as a 3d bedroom since the public records consider it to be. Features Douglas Fir floors throughout (currently covered by wall-to-wall carpeting). Includes an unfinished lower level of approximately 600 SF waiting to be transformed!

The private yard is ideal for enjoying your morning coffee from nearby Cole Coffee as well as evening wine with family and friends beneath the stars. It is fully fenced and kid / pet friendly and includes plenty of room for gardening, dining and entertaining.

Neighborhood

Rockridge

Cross Alcatraz Avenue, which divides Oakland and Berkeley, and you’ll find yourself in Rockridge, one of Oakland's most desirable, charming, and convenient neighborhoods. Housing in Rockridge is a combination of charming bungalows, cottages, classic Arts and Crafts dwellings, and large brown-shingle houses. Its leafy streets are mainly residential.
Rockridge offers an easy commute into San Francisco via the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station, as well as access to the University of California, Berkeley Campus. The 100-year-old, four-acre campus of the California College of Art and Crafts is nearby. Food-and-drink purveyors in Rockridge provide the best from around the world and local farms. Rockridge Market Hall, which takes its cue from the French Marché, offers numerous individual food and flower shops open to the sidewalk. Dozens of restaurants, cafes, and boutiques line bustling College Avenue, Rockridge's main drag.
