Features

Located in the picturesque Crocker Highlands neighborhood, this home has not just been remodeled, it has been re-imagined and re-designed for today’s modern lifestyle. The original floorplan was completely changed and enlarged to reflect what homeowners want in a home today; more open spaces, better flow, larger open kitchen, modern baths, and gathering places for friends and family, both inside and out.

There are so many improvements here, it’s hard to list them all. There is a new foundation, all new electrical (200 amp service for those with electric cars), plumbing, furnace, windows, interior walls, insulation, and almost all of the interior framing is new. The patio and driveway are all new with stamped cement. The sewer lateral has been replaced, there really is nothing else left to do here.

The kitchen is a cook’s dream. It has an expansive openness that makes it possible to gather there with friends and family. This kitchen has unobstructed access to the common living areas of the home as well as the backyard patio area. There are high-end stainless steel appliances, an apron kitchen sink, gorgeous dark blue cabinets with bronze hardware, it’s not your average kitchen remodel.

The re-design of this home also included adding additional living space at the lower level that now includes an additonal master suite, a laundry room and another closet that would be a great wine cellar. You’ll also have interior access to the garage from here, too. There is also a large attic that one could use for future expansion.

You’ll find that this location is close to many great locations that Oakland has to offer. You can walk to Lakeshore and Grand Lake restaurants and cafes, the Saturday Farmer’s Market, the Grand Lake Theater, Lake Merritt, it’s an easy walk to so many places. There is also easy freeway access and BART is not far either. Oakland’s growing Uptown District is nearby, there are lots of new entertainment options there, including a growing number of new restaurants to enjoy.

Neighborhood

Crocker Highlands

Crocker Highlands, once known for reliance on Key Line of electric trains, offers elegant examples of Tudor, Spanish, Arts and Crafts, Beaux Arts, and Art Deco period homes dating back to the 1920s. Notable homes were designed by architects Julia Morgan and Bernard Maybeck. Tree-lined streets and authentic street lamps from the 1920s are laid out along the rolling hills and frame spacious, manicured lawns in a neighborhood reminiscent of English garden suburbs.

Crocker Highlands is conveniently located near Interstate 580, and AC Transit bus lines serve the neighborhood. Residents can access parks, shops, and restaurants in the nearby Lakeshore, Grand Lake, and Glenview neighborhoods.
