Walk or bike to downtown Park Street and top schools from this completely remodeled Craftsman! Built in 1915, this classic Craftsman bungalow now has new life thanks to a total remodel that honors both the age and aesthetics of this vintage home. Situated just blocks from downtown Park Street and Edison Elementary School, the single-level home offers formal living and dining rooms, two bedrooms, one bathroom, an eat-in kitchen, a detached garage and newly landscaped front and back yards.

The home's exterior provides a classic example of Craftsman design and architecture. Embellished with traditional stucco/shingle walls and a low, broad roof, the typically asymmetrical Craftsman facade places emphasis on the large covered entrance porch on the left that is ideal for relaxing and watching the world go by. A deep driveway on the right of the house leads to a detached garage, and provides plenty of off-street tandem parking.

The bright, sunny interior reflects the time-honored Craftsman floor plan that guides the principle Arts and Crafts belief in simplicity in design, excellence in craftsmanship and functional utility. The large living room features a beautifully refinished vintage oak floor that continues throughout the house, and the simple yet elegant Craftsman windows surrounded by the original millwork. A wide doorway creates a seamless opening into a traditional dining room that has a wall of original windows and a stunning contemporary light fixture.

The thoughtfully designed, eat-in kitchen will undoubtedly be the heart of this fabulous home! Located beyond the dining room but clearly visible through an oversized open doorway, the lovely kitchen has a handsome oak floor and plenty of brilliant white cabinets that perfectly complement the sleek, dark gray quartz counters. Spacious enough for a full-sized table and chairs, this comfortable room also offers direct access to a large redwood deck and the newly landscaped backyard.;

Like most Craftsman bungalows, the bedrooms and bathroom are situated adjacent to the kitchen and dining rooms. The master bedroom is off of the kitchen, and looks out to the tranquil backyard with its lawn, raised vegetable bed and stunning Meyer lemon tree. The front bedroom is accessed through the dining room, and both sunny bedrooms are comparably sized and have a hardwood floor and a generous closet. The newly remodeled bathroom connects the two bedrooms, and has a white hex-tile floor, large linen closet, beadboard wainscoting, a traditional white vanity and a vintage cast iron tub/shower combination.;;

2535 Noble Ave. is a vintage home lover's dream come true, offering the best of original Craftsman design and workmanship combined with modern amenities and style. Nob Hill Foods is just minutes away, and the house is close to top schools, downtown Park St. and many convenient commuter options that include BART, tech shuttles, Casual Carpool and the ACTransit "OX" bus to San Francisco. .;

This is a gorgeous, turnkey home in a location that simply can't be beat.;

Neighborhood

Alameda was once a peninsula connected to the Oakland docks. In 1902, a canal was dredged to enable easier shipping access, and that turned Alameda into an island. A little off the beaten track, Alameda has a laid-back vibe all its own. Despite its 80,000 residents, there's still a small-town feeling in Alameda.

A 4th of July Parade, complete with horse-drawn carriages, embodies the small-town feel in Alameda, which has preserved much of its Victorian housing stock, cottages, and central, walkable shopping district along Park Street. The Alameda Theater on Park Street was restored to its art deco glory. Civic pride runs high here; formerly the Carnegie Library, the Alameda Free Library was transformed into a multimillion-dollar showplace that earned a Silver LEED certification. Kids play soccer on former parade grounds of the converted army barracks. Crown Memorial State Beach and Shoreline Drive attract wind surfers.

With more than 10,000 buildings constructed before 1930, there is a rich and varied architectural heritage in the area playing a role in Alameda's real estate market conditions. Historic Queen Anne's, more than 1,500 ornately decorated Victorians, and California Craftsmans are some of the most desirable homes here along its tree-lined streets.
