Light filled and updated three-bedroom one-bath home with beautiful wide plank hardwood floors and designer chosen new paint colors and light fixtures inside and out.  The open floor plan features a living/dining room combination with a wood burning fireplace and peak-a-boo view of the Bay and downtown San Francisco.  The spacious kitchen with plenty of cabinet space, granite counter-tops and new appliances is a great place to prepare a fantastic meal.  The garage is easily accessible from the kitchen so bringing in your groceries from the car is a cinch.  Laundry is also located in the garage.

There are 3 bedrooms and one bath off the hallway leading to the rear of the home.  There is plenty of closet and storage space. One of the bedrooms boasts a French door leading to a deck supporting views of the north bay and hills that leads into the backyard.  The backyard feels private and provides a wonderful outdoor area complete with a patio for entertaining as well as a planting area. In addition, there is access to the basement subarea of the house which is relatively tall and provides another great area for storage or possible future workshop.  In addition to all the home updates done to put the home on the market, the roof was replaced.

The Mira Vista Heights neighborhood is a wonderful place to live and the home boasts a 62 walkscore which means somewhat walkable.  Many public transportation options are nearby including DelNorte BART.  Also close by are restaurants like Huong Tra for great pho, Taqueria La Bamba for pupusas and other El Salvadoran specialties, Catahoula Coffee, Williams Natural Foods, and Planet Fitness gym.  You are also a stone throw away from Alvarado/Wildcat Canyon Regional park and Berkeley Country Club.  There is easy freeway access to Marin County, the Wine Country, not to mention other East Bay locations.  With only a short drive to El Cerrito Plaza, El Cerrito Natural Foods and Annex, and Solano Avenue in Albany and Berkeley with tons of restaurants, shops, and entertainment the location is fantastic.

Neighborhood

El Cerrito means "the little hill" in Spanish, and the town that is perched on the hill above San Francisco Bay offers easy access to Interstate 80 and Interstate 580 to Marin. Hillside homes along the curving streets deliver sweeping views of San Francisco and sunsets over the Golden Gate Bridge and Mount Tamalpais.  There is an incredibly amount of desirable housing stock, much of which is in the hills while still being a short distance to public transportation and BART. Access to open space and parkland is extensive, with Arlington Park, Cerrito Vista Park, Hillside Natural Area, Huber Park, Poinsett Park, and Tassajara Park & Pottery Studio all nearby. The Ohlone Greenway is a popular trail with hikers and bikers. The University of California, Berkeley is several miles away, and two Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) stations, at El Cerrito Plaza and El Cerrito del Norte, make commuting easy. El Cerrito Plaza is a major shopping center housing grocery stores (such as Trader Joes), restaurants, bookstores, a pharmacy, and smaller mom-and-pop stores. El Cerrito is a friendly place and a manageable size. It has a wonderful green designed city Hall where you can go and speak to public officials and not feel like you are dealing with thousands of layers of bureaucracy like you'd find in the larger cities nearby. There are some very good elementary schools where parental involvement is encouraged and growing.

Mira Vista Heights (Mira Vista in Spanish means “look at the view”) is on the Northeast Border of El Cerrito. There are several neighborhood parks including Canyon Trail Park and Tassajara Park, both offering play equipment for kids, soccer fields, and tennis courts. Also close by is the Berkeley Country Club featuring an 18-hole golf course as well as a fitness center with equipment geared toward improving one's golf game. There are many small businesses along San Pablo avenue, including a diverse mix of Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Nicaraguan, Cajun, Mexican, American, and Fast Food restaurants, earning the area a reputation as a low-priced "gourmet ghetto" according to the East Bay Express. There are also Planet Fitness and 24-Hour Fitness gyms and a local natural food store.

A short drive takes you to El Cerrito Natural Foods and Annex. Traveling a little further you come to Solano Avenue where you can enjoy all types of gourmet food and many boutique shops. El Cerrito Natural Area and Alvarado Park, a subsection of Wildcat Canyon Regional Park, are close by for hiking and dog walking on the many trails. The University of California, Berkeley Campus, is just several miles away.
