Stunning + Sophisticated: 2911 Santa Clara is a Brown Shingle Craftsman located in the highly desirable East End of Alameda. Built in 1909, this single level, 1447 square feet, 3 bedroom, 1 bath home has retained much of its original splendor: Doric column entrance, Coved Ceilings, Wainscoting, Bay Windows, charming built-ins, gleaming hardwood floors and 9.5 inch baseboards. This home is both light-filled and spacious.
Upon entering, you are greeted by a Large Foyer illuminated by a unique and delicate feather light fixture. The Living Room is accented with period details like a Box Bay Window Seat with Storage, a built-in bookshelf and lovely stain glass window.
Working Pocket Doors frame the impressive Dining Room complete with: 3-slot Plate Rail, Wainscoting and Butler Pass through with Leaded glass.
The kitchen has been recently updated with creamy herringbone tile, newer cabinetry, and custom marble floating shelves. Both bedrooms are large with good-sized closets and one of them has a set of heavy, deep Captains Cabinets! The Jack and Jill bathroom has Marble Hex floor tiles, claw-footed tub and pedestal sink.
Beyond the 2nd bedroom there is an enchanting 3 bedroom, likely a former Sleeping Porch from the early 20th Century, with a wall of windows overlooking the flowing Pepper Tree in the Back yard – this is a wonderful Bonus area which can be used for Nursery, Office, or Family Room.
Just beyond the kitchen is another lovely space for laundry, pantry or office. The backyard is a Modern Retreat recently remodeled with paving stones, high quality turf and planter box. There is a full basement with newer foundation and a high ceiling attic (10 ft. peak) for more opportunities to add to this already Gorgeous Historic East End home.
Close to Top Schools, Lincoln Park (Bocce Ball, Community Pool, Playground, Rose Garden), Downtown Park Street, Feel Good Bakery – you can have the best of Alameda! Close to Freeway, SF Ferry, BART and Transbay Bus.

Alameda began as a peninsula just south of Oakland and is now an East Bay island with a laid-back feeling all its own. You will find a variety of homes and condos for sale in Alameda including cozy apartments, spacious single family homes that have been fully renovated, and gorgeous luxury mansions where no expense was spared. With more than 10,000 buildings constructed before 1930, there is a rich and varied architectural heritage in the area playing a role in Alameda's real estate market conditions. Historic Queen Anne's, more than 1,500 ornately decorated Victorians, and California Craftsmans are some of the most desirable homes here along its tree-lined streets. Although Alameda is a little off the beaten path, the city has a laid-back vibe all its own. One of the unique elements of Alameda is its population: with only 80,000 residents, the population density is less than half of San Francisco, and similar to the density found in Oakland. Alameda is incredibly walkable. When locals want to explore the various shopping, landmarks, museums, and dining, they usually head to Park Street. Start your day with a visit to the Alameda Museum. Since 1948, the museum has preserved the rich history of this unique island city and offers both locals and tourists an opportunity to learn more about the great island of Alameda. After a day at the museum, there are plenty of great restaurants to choose from, including: Monkey King Pub and Grub: Featuring a unique mix of Asian-fusion cuisine, crafty cocktails, and delicious draft beer, this is also a great happy hour hangout. La Penca Azul: A family-owned favorite for over 25 years, they are also well- known for their taco truck. Original Red Onion: If you love great, locally-sourced food in a family-friendly atmosphere, you will absolutely love this restaurant. Civic pride runs high in Alameda, and many of the city’s older buildings have been fully restored or repurposed. The Alameda Theater on Park Street was restored to its art deco glory, while the Alameda Free Library was transformed from the Carnegie Library into a multimillion-dollar showplace that earned a Silver LEED certification. Alameda is also a great place for outdoor activities. Robert W Crown Memorial State Beach is the perfect place for wind-surfing and taking a morning run near the beach. Alameda is a great place to live if you love a vibrant atmosphere with plenty of festivals and activities to enjoy. One of the trademark events in Alameda is the 4th of July Parade, which features horse-drawn carriages and truly embodies the small-town feel of Alameda. Other popular events and festivals in Downtown include a Spring Festival in May and a Classic Car Show in October. No matter the time of year, there is always something fun happening in Alameda.
