Moss Beach is a tiny town on the San Mateo County coast in an area known as "the Coastside". South of San Francisco and North of Santa Cruz, the nearest cities are Half Moon Bay and Pacifica.
The children attend schools in the same school district from the towns of Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada and Half Moon Bay. The local elementary school for Moss Beach families is located in Montara. The local public middle and high schools are located in Half Moon Bay. There are nearby private schools also.
What people love about Moss Beach is the neighborhood feel while also being a part of the greater Coastside community. There are several established groups to join, if interested. A few are - The Coastside Mother's Club, baseball leagues, surfing groups, exercise clubs.
The Coastside is considered a bedroom community to those who work in either San Francisco, or the Peninsula and Silicon Valley. In the last few years, more people work from home. This change in work/lifestyle has enabled more workers to enjoy their coastal home, while still meeting their workplace needs.
